Security Payment (Bond)HAUSH Accommodation acts as an accommodation provider, not the property owner. We hold a head lease with the rental provider and lodge the required bond with the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority (RBO / RTBA) in accordance with relevant legislation. As this is a subletting arrangement for fully furnished accommodation, the security payment collected from the Renter is not lodged with the RBO / RTBA. Instead, it is held in a separate trust account by HAUSH Accommodation. This payment serves the same purpose as a bond and is refundable at the end of the tenancy, subject to any deductions for damage, unpaid rent, or breach of agreement. This structure ensures the original bond obligations are met with the RBO / RTBA, while HAUSH Accommodation maintains appropriate security for the subletting arrangement. Yes, a written receipt is provided upon payment of the deposit.

Deposit Return ProcessAs per your tenancy agreement, deposits are returned within 7 days after the end of the tenancy, provided there are no outstanding charges for damage, unpaid rent, or breach of agreement. This is our standard process and is consistent with arrangements for all other students accommodated by HAUSH.

Professional Cleaning RequirementProfessional cleaning is carried out prior to the commencement of every tenancy. The same standard of professional cleaning is required when vacating the property at the end of the lease.

Early TerminationIf a tenant wishes to vacate before the end of a fixed-term agreement, they must provide written notice to HAUSH Accommodation and may be liable for reasonable lease-break costs. Compensation or alternative arrangements in cases of landlord-initiated early termination will be assessed in line with relevant tenancy legislation.
